I realize television writers can't know everything. I get that, though sometimes I do wonder that they don't have consultants who pay attention to the details. But whatever.
But the "Grey's Anatomy" folks have got to get their shit together on this front. First,
there was the ridiculous thing last season where someone had to "pet a bear." Seriously. And then after he was attacked and chewed by said bear, they drove him to Seattle to the hospital for treatment. Ummm, there were plenty of closer places to be treated but OK.
Then in last week's episode, Yang was ripping on this older doctor who Yang thinks should have retired and quit doing surgeries. She made the snarky comment that she should have "retired to Boca with all her friends."
Only someone from the East Coast would say someone who lives in Seattle should retire to Boca. Most folks in the Northwest who are going to retire, generally become what are known as "snowbirds." They go to sunnier climes (usually Arizona) for the winter, and return north in the spring (often for Easter) and stay through fall, when they return south. Some do retire fully to Arizona, but most become snowbirds because they don't want to forever give up their NW homes.
I know and know of tons of snowbirds, but none of them retire to Boca. It just ain't done in these parts.

I love my sister's small, auxiliary dog. He really is a character, as is her main large dog. I'd love to get a dog, but I refuse to have one who goes to the hairdresser more often than I do.
Actually, I won't own a dog who needs to go to the hairdresser at all. The whole notion of taking a dog to a "groomer" is one of the most bizarre things going today.
My cousin has a thing for toile. I do not. I don't get the appeal. I don't think it's hideous, but it's just so overwhelming to me, I don't think I could be comfortable in a room where it's a dominate pattern, like in a wallpaper or something. Ugh.
Right now our living room is crammed with extra furniture we brought home from my folks' house. I can't wait to get things rearranged.
